What is Aggie Camp?

Aggie Camp is a spirit camp that instils Aggie traditions for the new students at New Mexico State University.

Who can go to Aggie Camp?

Any new incoming students to New Mexico State University who are enrolled full time in the fall semester.

Where and when will Aggie Camp be?

Aggie Camp will be held at Camp Aspendale in Cloudcroft, NM. The camp starts 3 days before move-in. Campers should arrive on campus on August 11th.

How do I get there?

Aggie Camp will provide transportation to Aspendale from the NMSU campus to all students participating in the camp.

Can I bring my friend?

Yes! If your friend is also a new Aggie they can also register for Aggie Camp.

How long is the camp?

Aggie Camp lasts three days from August 11th till August 14th.

When and how can I apply?

You may apply online through our Aggie Camp page on the Campus Activities site or during Aggie Welcome and Orientation.

How much does Aggie Camp cost?

Aggie Camp fee is $200.00 which includes transportation, meals, lodging, and a shirt. This fee is due by August 1st. Please note, you must also register for Aggie Camp to complete your sign up. You Aggie Camp Fee can be paid here.

Are meals provided?

Yes! Meals will be provided by Aggie Camp staff, make sure to write down any food restrictions on your application so we can best serve your needs.

What should I bring to Aggie Camp?

Reusable water bottle, sunscreen, toiletries, sleeping bags, pillows, snacks, positive attitudes, active gear, closed-toe shoes, comfortable clothing, light jackets. A complete packing list can be found here.

How do I move into the Residence Halls?

Arrive early on August 11th from 7:30am -11:30am. For more information on how to move in to a specific hall see the housing website at housing.nmsu.edu or call at 575-646-3202

What if I have allergies?

Please list your allergies during registration. Aggie Camp staff will work with you to accommodate your needs.

Where do we sleep? Sleeping arrangements?

All campers will be staying in cabins, gender assigned. No co-ed living. Supervised by camp counselors and other staff. Please be sure to bring bedding for your bunk.

What should I wear?

Comfortable clothing. Keep in mind that we will be outside and participating in different activities.  You find the complete packing list here.

Why should I go to Aggie Camp?

You should be part of Aggie Camp because it will not only allow you to meet new incoming Aggies but you will learn about the traditions that happen at New Mexico State University. You will be more than ready to start your freshman year of college with great Aggie Spirit.
